SHIGERU UMEBAYASHI
Not only does his music add sensations to images: it completes them, anticipates them, and somehow gets them to their destination. Today, that music has spanned the whole of world cinema, from the East of Zhang Yimou (House of Flying Daggers, Curse of the Golden Flower) and Ronny Yu (Fearless), to the West of A Single Man by Tom Ford. It has even reached Italy, in the composer’s collaborations with Roberta Torre (Mare nero) and Marco Simon Puccioni (Come il vento).

ISABELLA ROSSELLINI
Model, actress, director, author, environmentalist, animal rights activist, Isabella Rossellini studied at Rome’s Academy of Costume and Fashion in her youth, and picked up ethology in her maturity, when she decided to found Mama Farm on Long Island and practice regenerative agriculture. Since 2013 she has run the farm with her daughter Elettra. A fashion and style icon, Rossellini is above all a woman endowed with enormous talent and curiosity about art and life, in all their many forms.

MICHEL GONDRY
Brilliant director and screenwriter, eclectic and volcanic artist, author of video clips for Björk, Daft Punk, Lenny Kravitz and many others. At the Rome Film Fest 2023, the French director was the protagonist of a tribute that included Le Livre des solutions, his most recent work, the world premiere of François Nemeta’s In Bed With Gondry, an intimate portrait of the brilliant filmmaker, and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, which won him the Academy Award® for Best Original Screenplay.

GIUSEPPE TORNATORE
The Oscar®-winning director was at Rome Film Fest 2023 with Il camorrista – La serie (1986), filmed at the same time as his eponymous debut film and never released, premiered in the new version produced by Titanus Production and RTI – Mediaset and distributed by Minerva Pictures, with restoration by Tornatore himself.

GIANFRANCO ROSI
The director tells the audience about his first experience behind the camera, which took place with the direction of Boatman (1993), a journey along the banks of the Ganges in the company of an exceptional Charon: the boatman Gopal, who knows every bend of the river. The documentary, whose 30th anniversary falls in 2023, was successfully presented at several major international festivals such as Sundance, Locarno and Toronto.

EMMA DANTE – ELENA STANCANELLI
One of the most important names in theatre of the new millennium, also a film director, together with one of the most incisive Italian writers, also a screenwriter: Emma Dante and Elena Stancanelli in conversation about imagination and life, on stage and on the big screen.

LISANDRO ALONSO – ALESSIO RIGO DE RIGHI
The past, genre cinema, the comings and goings of time: some of the topics to be explored by the standard-bearer of the Argentine new wave Lisandro Alonso (Jaujia, Eureka) and an exponent of a brand-new Italo-Argentine new wave Alessio Rigo de Righi, who co-directed The Tale of King Crab with Matteo Zoppis and is currently finishing production on the western Heads or Tails?
