The seventeenth edition of the Rome Film Fest begins with the opening ceremony in the Sala Sinopoli of the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone.

James Ivory will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award: the Oscar®-winning director will also be at the Festa to present his new work, A Cooler Climate, made with Giles Gardner.

Francesca Archibugi‘s Il colibrì is the opening film: on the red carpet, the cast featuring Pierfrancesco Favino, Kasia Smutniak, Bérénice Bejo, Nanni Moretti, Laura Morante, Benedetta Porcaroli, Massimo Ceccherini, Fotiní Peluso, Francesco Centorame, Sergio Albelli and Alessandro Tedeschi.

At the end of the screening, Marco Mengoni will perform live the unreleased song by Sergio Endrigo and Riccardo Sinigallia entitled “Caro amore lontanissimo”.

The opening ceremony, presented by Geppi Cucciari, will dedicate a moment of silence in memory of Mahsa Amini.
