4th May 8pm: Ferzan Özpetek
On May 5th last year, Casa del Cinema reopened to the public after a series of renovations and under new management by the Fondazione Cinema per Roma, the institution that since its foundation has organized the Rome Film Fest. To celebrate the anniversary, Ferzan Özpetek, Matteo Garrone and Valeria Golino will be the featured guests at three encounters with the public during which they will present the films they love best. Saturday May 4th will be dedicated to Özpetek, who has chosen for the spectators the film Black Narcissus by Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger (to be screened at 6 pm) and Il segno di Venere by Dino Risi (8 pm): the filmmaker will come to the stage before the screening of Risi’s film. Free admission

5th May 8pm: Matteo Garrone

On Sunday May 5th, the featured guest will be Garrone, who has selected L’Atalante by Jean Vigo (6 pm) and 8 ½ by Federico Fellini (8 pm), and will meet the audience before this second screening. Also on Sunday, the great Roman director will be celebrated with one of his best-loved films, Pinocchio, which will be screened as part of the film series “Forever Kids” at 11 am. Free admission

8th May 8pm: Pivio e Aldo De Scalzi
From May 8th to May 29th, Casa del Cinema presents the series “Listening to cinema” which will explore the role of music within the seventh art. The theme will be discussed by several famous composers who will be on stage to meet the public and present the screenings of three films for which they authored the soundtrack: on Wednesday May 8th, Pivio and Aldo De Scalzi will introduce The Scent of the Night (L’odore della notte) by Claudio Caligari. Moderated by musicteller Federico Sacchi.

22nd May 8pm: Gatto Ciliegia Contro Il Grande Freddo
From May 8th to May 29th, Casa del Cinema presents the series “Listening to cinema” which will explore the role of music within the seventh art. The theme will be discussed by several famous composers who will be on stage to meet the public and present the screenings of three films for which they authored the soundtrack: on Wednesday May 22nd the speaker will be Gatto Ciliegia Contro il Grande Freddo for Miss Marx by Susanna Nicchiarelli. Moderated by musicteller Federico Sacchi.

29th May 8pm: Teho Teardo
From May 8th to May 29th, Casa del Cinema presents the series “Listening to cinema” which will explore the role of music within the seventh art. The theme will be discussed by several famous composers who will be on stage to meet the public and present the screenings of three films for which they authored the soundtrack: Wednesday May 29th, Teho Teardo will introduce the screening of The Past is a Foreign Land (Il passato è una terra straniera) by Daniele Vicari. Moderated by musicteller Federico Sacchi.
