The Rome Film Fest’s commitment to social issues and to the environment continues in 2021. There will be screenings at the Fondazione Policlinico Universitario Agostino Gemelli IRCCS with MediCinema Italia Onlus and the Rebibbia Nuovo Complesso, while the actresses of the Rebibbia Women’s Prison will perform at the MAXXI. Thanks to their exceptional technical equipment, the guests of the twelve Shelter Homes of the Regione Lazio will have free access to the screenings of the films previewed at the Rome Film Fest.  Save the Children will be at the Rome Film Fest with an event to raise awareness on the red carpet and to keep the spotlight shining on Afghan children and on all children in need. Villa Miani will be the venue for a Charity Gala Dinner to support the Fondazione Telethon and the Italian Red Cross. The photography exhibition AFGHANA, which will be on display at the Auditorium, will document EMERGENCY’s decision to open a maternity centre in the isolated Panishir Valley. Palazzo Migliori will host a special screening for the homeless. In the Cinema Village at the Auditorium Parco della Musica, for the entire duration of the festival, a row of “red armchairs” will be installed to give concrete support to women performers during the time they are absent from work during their pregnancy. The “Go Plastic Free” initiative will, finally, make it possible to limit the use of plastic bottles during the event, thanks to the support of Aquachiara. On the occasion of the sixteenth edition, Campo Marzio has brought its creativity to the Rome Film Fest. They made the bags for the event – in eco-friendly R-PET fabric – by recycling used plastic bottles; these bags will be accompanying badge holders during the entire duration of the event, fully in tune with the green message supported by the event
