#CityFest |Before and After the Virus: Italian Cinema speaks up
This new project, organized by Fondazione Cinema per Roma and curated by Mario Sesti, collects on video some testimonies from authors, producers and actors of our cinema. Starting from March 25th, the clips will be shared on the website www.romacinemafest.org and through Fondazione’s social media channels @romacityfest with the hashtags #CityFest, #IoRestoACasa, #LaCulturaInCasa. Numerous personalities have decided to join the project: among the first, confirmed names are Carlo Verdone, Liliana Cavani, Daniele Luchetti, Francesca Cima, Cristina Donadio, Sara Serraiocco, Francesca Archibugi, Paola Cortellesi. In the video interviews, the talents and producers will share with the audience their recommendations on films, tv series, books, experiences; will discuss the many ways in which the epidemic will affect and influence the cinematic storytelling; and, in the end, will brainstorm imagining the first things to carry out as soon as we will be able to get back to a normal, every day’s life.

Cinema al MAXXI – Extra Doc Festival
In collaboration with Fondazione MAXXI, Fondazione Cinema per Roma provides its visitors with free editorial content online – ranging from architecture, arts, educationals, to film – consisting of 8 micro lessons on Documentary films. These short lessons introduce some of the works made by filmmakers who have taken part in the Extra Doc Festival – the competition presenting the best documentaries shot by Italian filmmakers – as an integral part of the Cinema al Maxxi event. The documentaries will be introduced to outline, show, break down and analyze the linguistic, productive, aesthetic and narrative features that characterize the documentary as a genre, as a text and a work and as a glance at the world. For each of these micro lessons, a short written text + links to the accompanying materials that help illustrate the video contents, will be sent to users. A compilation video will be made available to all users; it will serve as a general introduction to the documentary as an art form and will show anyone the reasons and the horizon of research that led Fondazione Cinema per Roma and Fondazione MAXXI to choose this technique as an object of study and a work site.

#Cinemadacasa
Produced by Associazione Culturale Playtown Roma, Alice nella Città is a festival aimed at new generations, which takes place simultaneously and in collaboration with Rome Film Fest, an international film festival organized and curated by Fondazione Cinema per Roma. In these days, Alice nella Città has set up a film-based initiative to unite people through cinema and illuminate our cities. Every evening at 10 pm, sequences and images of the films that we have loved the most are being projected on urban building facades, alternating feel-good films, classic cinema and vintage movies. This is an innovative idea of film programming made of many films, many people and many windows. Those who have got a projector are invited to project sequences and scenes from their favorite films from their home windows. They can also share images. Films can also be requested through our social channels, and they will be included in the programming of #Cinemadacasa.

Share.
