The Rome Film Fest and the parallel and independent sidebar Alice nella città are pleased to announce the first title in a series of co-productions to take place as part of the eleventh Rome Film Fest (13-23 October): Captain Fantastic, the second feature-length film directed by Matt Ross, who has worked as an actor with important directors such as Martin Scorsese, Terry Gilliam and John Woo.
Captain Fantastic is a film that breaks the boundaries of genres, that alternates hilarious sequences with moments of pure emotion, thanks to the extraordinary performance of Viggo Mortensen, one of American cinema’s most best-loved actors for his roles in The Lord of the Rings, A History of Violence and Eastern Promises, which won him a nomination for the Oscar® as Best Actor. Mortensen plays Ben, a father who lives in isolation with his wife and six children in the forests of North America: a tragedy will force him to face the outside world and a completely different set of values. Captain Fantastic will be released in theatres in Italy in December, distributed by Good Films.
