Palm Springs by Max Barbakow will be presented at the fifteenth Rome Film Fest. The first fiction feature film by the director and writer from California comes to the Fest after a surprising debut in the United States, in the wake of its acclaim by critics and audiences alike at the Sundance Film Festival. The film follows events in the life of two people who meet by chance at a wedding in Palm Springs: things get complicated when the carefree Nyles and the reluctant maid-of-honour Sarah are stuck in a time loop, and unable to escape from the reception, themselves and especially, one another.
Palm Springs is a romantic comedy about the nature of love and solitude that stars Andy Samberg, winner of the Golden Globe as Best Actor for the series Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and Cristin Milioti, who won a Grammy Award for the musical “Once”, and acted in The Wolf of Wall Street by Martin Scorsese and the series Black Mirror and Fargo. The cast also includes Oscar© winner J.K. Simmons with Meredith Hagner, Camila Mendes, Tyler Hoechlin and Peter Gallagher. Palm Springs will be released in Italian theatres on October 29th, distributed by I Wonder Pictures.
The fifteenth Rome Film Fest will be held from October 15th to 25th 2020 at the Auditorium Parco della Musica. The event, under the artistic direction of Antonio Monda, is organized by the Fondazione Cinema per Roma chaired by Laura Delli Colli, General Manager Francesca Via.
