The Swedish Academy today, Thursday October 6th, awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature for the year 2022 to Annie Ernaux: the French author will be a guest of the seventeenth Rome Film Fest with the documentary Les Années Super 8, which she made with her son David Ernaux-Briot.

In this film, Annie Ernaux opens up the chest of memories thanks to a series of amateur videos filmed between 1972 and 1981, when her husband Philippe Ernaux bought a Super-8 camera to film their lives and those of their two young children. Les Années Super 8  is an intimate piece that incorporates not only the passing of time in the life of the author and her family, but also half a century of history, intercepting the fascinating upheavals that were taking place in France and around the world during those years.
