The thirteenth Rome Film Fest (18-28 October 2018) will celebrate Martin Scorsese, one of the finest figures in the history of the seventh art, bestowing him with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Artistic director Antonio Monda announced it today in agreement with Laura Delli Colli, at the head of the Fondazione Cinema per Roma.
The award will be presented by Italian director Paolo Taviani to the American filmmaker, author of a remarkable series of masterpieces from Mean Streets and Taxi Driver to Raging Bull, from Goodfellas to Casino, from Gangs of New York to The Departed, from The Wolf of Wall Street to Silence.
“I am extremely honored to bestow the Lifetime Achievement Award to a Cinema Master – says Antonio Monda – I am thrilled and moved to celebrate Martin Scorsese, not only as a great director but also for his extraordinary and priceless contribution to the rediscovery of great classic movies and, most of all, of Italian Cinema”.
