In guerra per amore by Pierfrancesco Diliberto (Pif) – to be screened on Wednesday October 12th at 9 pm in the Sala Petrassi of the Auditorium Parco della Musica – is the last event in the pre-opening programme of the eleventh Rome Film Fest. The film, which follows the success of La mafia uccide solo d’estate, stars Pif with Miriam Leone, Andrea di Stefano and Stella Egitto who will participate in the preview along with the rest of the cast.
The film is set in 1943: with World War II in full swing, Arturo is having a tormented love affair with Flora. The two are in love, but she has been promised to the son of an important mobster in New York. To be able to marry his beloved, the hero must win the approval of her father, who lives in a small town in Sicily. Arturo, young and broke, has only one way to get to the island: to enlist in the US Army, which is preparing to invade Sicily, an event that will forever change the history of Sicily, Italy and the Mafia.
