The Rome Film Fest presents the world premiere preview of the docuseries The Heysel Tragedy by Jan Verheyen and Jean-Philippe Leclaire. The first two episodes will be screened Saturday October 22nd at the Teatro Studio Gianni Borgna.

The Heysel Tragedy brings to the screen the dramatic events of May 29th, 1985, during the Champion’s League final between Liverpool and Juventus, which caused the death of 39 people, exploring the consequences for the families involved, for football and for sports in general.

The six-episode series is inspired by the book “Heysel: The Tragedy Juventus Tried to Forget” by Jean Philippe Leclaire, published in Italy by Piemme.
