Taking top honours tonight at the Golden Globes were three television series previewed in screenings featuring the authors and stars at the ninth RomaFictionFest, a brand of the Associazione Produttori Televisivi, produced by the Fondazione Cinema per Roma, with the support of the Regione Lazio and the Rome Chamber of Commerce, with the artistic coordination of Piera Detassis: Mr. Robot, Wolf Hall and Show Me a Hero. The following prizes were awarded by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association in Los Angeles:
Mr. Robot, presented in Competition in Rome, won two acknowledgments: as Best television series, drama and Best performance by an actor in a supporting role in a television series, drama (Christian Slater). It won Best “Young” Television Series at the RomaFictionFest.
Wolf Hall (at the RFF in the Period Drama section) won Best television limited series.
Show Me a Hero, screened in Rome during the master-class by Oscar® award-winning director Paul Haggis, won Best performance by an actor in a leading role in a television limited series: Oscar Isaac.
Furthermore, Mozart in the Jungle (the first season was presented at the RFF in 2014) won Best television series, comedy or musical and Best performance by an actor in a television series, musical or comedy (Gael Garcia Bernal).
