“Occhi blu” by Michela Cescon

Presented at Taormina in 2021, divided into six chapters, it has the feel of a thriller and is a passionate homage by the director to the French polar genre, a synthesis of policer and noir (with explicit references to the great Melville). But instead of Paris, there is a metropolitan Rome from an auteur graphic novel, all shadows, reflections on water and glass, vertiginous architectural escapes, finally far from the postcard of the eternal city.

CINEMA AL MAXXI
The screening is part of the Cinema at MAXXI programme. The first part of the series (16 June – 28 July) will host, in the Museum Piazza and as part of the Estate al MAXXI event, the films of Extra Explore, a selection of the most surprising and innovative Italian cinema, featuring the most original emerging authors who have come to the fore at Cannes, Venice and Taormina. The programme is completed by an exclusive evening of awards for the Video Essay Film Festival, dedicated to new forms of film criticism.
