Screening in Competition today is “The Man Who Will Come“, the new film by Giorgio Diritti, a director who received extraordinary critical and public acclaimed with “Il vento f ail suo giro” . Diritti’s film focuses on one of the most tragic events of World War II, the massacre of Marzabotto, which took place on the nights of September 28th and 29th 1944. The films stars Maya Sansa, Alba Rohrwacher and Claudio Casadio.

Margarethe von Trotta, one of the most insightful filmmakers of New German Cinema, returns with her film “Vision“, based on a true story about Hildegard von Bingen, a daughter of a rich and noble German family who is sent to a convent where she starts to have visions.

The third film in Competition is the Danish film “Brotherhood” about two Neonazi who hide their homosexual relationship. The film is directed by the very talented Nicolo Donato.

Today’s special event is “The Red Riding Trilogy“, while the Focus section will screen the film “H2Oil“, about oil companies in Canada, where there has been several recent environmental disasters.

Alice nella Città is screening “The Boat Race” a co-production between Beligum, Luxembourg, France and Oorlogswinter directed by Martin Koolhoven. The movie takes place during the Nazi’s occupation of Holland.

The Extra section hosts two documentaries dedicated to L’Aquila after the earthquake, “Immota manet” and “My Sweet L’Aquila“, along with other titles including: “Sons of Cuba” on the Havana Boxing Academy; “Con Artist” on Mark Kostabi’s factory; “The One Man Beatles“, about Emitt Rhodes, a mysterious forgotten American pop star from the 60s/70s; “PiN2011- Erinnerung An Die Strasse/PiN2011 A Recollection Of The Street“, a story about a brilliant German graffiti artist who tags his work with the signature PiN2011.
