The 10th Rome Film Fest: not just cinema, but exclusive events, parties, and cocktails throughout the “Festa”

The 10th Rome Film Fest focuses on cinema, encounters, retrospectives, and tributes, but is fringed with events, parties, and cocktails hours, scheduled across the entire duration of the event, which will be held from Friday October 16th through Saturday 24th.

Tuesday October 20th at 10 pm, JTI Japan Tobacco International, which has supported the Rome Film Fest since 2010, will organize an exclusive party with DJ-set at the Hotel Mood in Via Palermo. The theme of the evening will be “Studio 54”, the New York disco that became the most famous nightclub in the world in the Seventies, attracting celebrities such as Madonna, Andy Warhol, Keith Richards, Robin Williams. The party will dance to the music of one of Studio 54’s historic DJs, Kenny Carpenter.

On October 20th, for the screening of Swinging Roma by Andrea Bettinetti, an exclusive cocktail party will be held at the MAXXI at 7 pm, organized by Sky Arte.

On Wednesday October 21st at 10 pm, Mazda, the Official Sponsor of the Rome Film Fest, will organize a party at the Lanterna, the glass and steel rooftop creation by architect Massimiliano Fuksas, in the former Unione militare building in Via Tomacelli in Rome. At the entrance, guests will be greeted by a young portrait artist who will draw their silhouettes, leaving each guest a small personalized gift, reflecting Mazda’s “make it personal” style. The theme of the entire evening is “Pure Passion” and “Soul Red”, the cutting-edge colour for the new car line: from the “Soul Red Cocktail” welcome drink to the hashtag #MazdaPurePassion, to the video with a live musical base celebrating the relationship between MazdaPurePassion and Cinema. The event will feature a performance by the “Elisabetta Antonini Quintet”, with the voice of Elisabetta Antonini – winner of the prestigious Top Jazz 2014 critics’ award as Best New Talent – Marco Guidolotti on the sax and Massimiliano De Lucia on drums. The band will perform “The Passion For Change Goes On”, the project developed ad hoc between live jazz music and the soundtracks from the most famous films.

Also on Wednesday October 21st, at 8:30 pm, there will be a Gala Dinner organized by the Telethon Foundation under the artistic direction of Tiziana Rocca, at the Open Colonna in the Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome. The dinner will be prepared by resident chef Antonello Colonna. The host for the evening, which again this year intends to create awareness and raise funds to support scientific research on genetic diseases, will be Francesco Facchinetti, the Italian DJ, singer and television host. The Gala will also present a preview screening of the tenth short film by Rai Cinema for the Telethon: Fattore VIII, by director Mauro Mancini, produced by Movimento film with Rai Cinema. The event has been made possible by the High Patronage of the President of the Republic, and the patronage of the Regione Lazio, and Roma Capitale in collaboration with the Fondazione Cinema per Roma.

On Thursday October 22nd, at 8:30 pm, Disaronno will celebrate the restoration of Ettore Scola’s film La Terrazza, with a special event to be held at the Terrazza Caffarelli, on the top floor of the Capitoline Museum building, with a breath-taking view of the Imperial Forum. The cocktail party will be the opportunity for an exclusive presentation of the new limited edition bottle “Disaronno wears Cavalli”, designed by the famous fashion house. The party will serve, for the first time ever, the new Disaronno Wears Cavalli Sour cocktail.

Friday October 23rd, at 8:30 pm, the charity event “Insieme per il Nepal” will take place at Cinecittà. This traditional event brings together film and international charities. Created by Désirée Colapietro Petrini and made possible through the efforts of Cinecittà Studios, the purpose of the event is to raise funds for the emergency in Nepal, a project supported by the Associazione Pietro Taricone Onlus. The evening will be hosted by Neri Marcorè and this year again, the sets for the theatre venue will be designed by Oscar® award-winners Dante Ferretti and Francesca Lo Schiavo. The fund raising event will be devoted to the April 25 earthquake emergency in Nepal, which caused more than 9,000 victims and left many without their home.
