The Fondazione Cinema per Roma presents the March programme at Casa del Cinema.

From March 20th to 26th, it’s Carte Blanche to Gianni Amelio: the director has chosen five remarkable films made by masters of the seventh art such as Federico Fellini, Louis Malle, Nicholas Ray, Orson Welles and Billy Wilder. Amelio will present his selection on 20th March, before the screening of Touch of Evil. Audiences are also invited to see five of the most famous films by the director, born in Calabria, who will return to the stage to introduce The Way We Laughed (Così ridevano) and Tenerezza: Holding Hands.

From March 1st to 18th, the programme will feature the series Signore&Signore: fifteen films, from the 1950s to the present day, will showcase memorable characters and actresses who have made the history of cinema with their performances. The guest of the series will be Chiara Rapaccini, who on Friday March 8th will present the book “Mio amato Belzebù. L’amara Dolce vita con Monicelli e compagnia” (Giunti Editore), before the screening of Speriamo che sia femmina by Mario Monicelli.

There will be four events, from March 6th to 29th, dedicated to the preview of the “Film of the Month”, January by Viesturs Kairišs, winner of the awards for Best Film, Best Director and Best Actor at the 2022 Rome Film Fest.

On the one hundredth anniversary of his birth, Casa del Cinema will celebrate the unforgettable Walter Chiari with the screening of Romance by Massimo Mazzucco: the film will be introduced, on Tuesday March 5th, by the co-protagonist Luca Barbareschi.

On Wednesday March 27th, Casa del Cinema will also commemorate Gianni Minà, a year after his death, with the screening of Gianni Minà, a voce alta, a collection of original materials filmed during the Forum Social Mundial in Porto Alegre.

On Thursday March 14th, as part of the series “Traveling through Italy”, under the patronage of the Ministry of Tourism and Enit – National Tourist Agency, there will be a screening of Amate sponde by Egidio Eronico, while on Monday March 4th, in collaboration with Galleria Borghese, the screening will feature Tintoretto. Un ribelle a Venezia by Giuseppe Domingo Romano.
