Constructed around 14 films in competition, Alice in the City will feature an international selection dedicated to the new generations. Through the ideas, arguments and themes of directors and writers, the showcase wants to capture and gratify the interest of both cinema professionals and the just plain curious.
A section searching for new ways of increasing contamination and contact with its audience, to intercept and recount: these are the driving forces behind an event with the precise aim of promoting significant works on the market, works that know how to represent the states of childhood and adolescence.
The two competitions for cinema and books operate alongside the screenings, exhibitions and meetings organised with a view to discovering and analysing the works presented. This will be further reflected by the many products sent in for the school audiovisual works selection.
So, Alice 2007 - running in parallel with the other sections of the RomeFilmFest – will offer the chance for in-depth study and exploitation of the chosen films and books. There will be an award of 90,000 Euros - distributed equally between the competition categories - along with privileged access to the professional screenings and The Business Street video library.
