New Cinema Network is an event of the RomeFilmFest devoted to supporting the funding of feature film projects, matching “the right producer with the right project”.
Projects 2007
The 2007 edition of New Cinema Network will take place from October 20th to 24th at the Casa del Cinema, located in the Park of Villa Borghese in Rome.
40 Producers especially interested in finding international co-production opportunities will be invited to participate in New Cinema Network together with professionals from Business Street, the RomeFilmFest Market Event. Individual meetings with the directors and/or producers of the projects will be organised by New Cinema Network.
This year New Cinema Network will host 26 selected projects divided into two sections:
NCN-Focus Europe will present 14 projects of European directors looking for co-productions for their second film. A jury made up of 3 European producers will select the Best European Second Feature Film Project. Its director will receive a prize of 30.000 €, sponsored by MINI (BMW). The Italian Projects will compete for the SIAE Award.
The first films of the 14 European directors will be screened at the CINEMA FARNESE located in Piazza Campo dei Fiori during the RomeFilmFest. The screenings will be open to the public and to students coming from Universities and Film Schools of Rome. A jury made up of 10 members chosen among the students and headed by a prominent young filmmaker, will select the best film.
The prizes will be awarded during the Closing Evening of New Cinema Network on October 23rd.
NCN-International will give the opportunity to 12 international directors to present their next film project to potential co-production partners.
The industry professionals will have the possibility to screen all the films (first works of NCN-FOCUS EUROPE directors and a chosen previous work of NCN-INTERNATIONAL directors) at the video library at the Casa del Cinema.
The 26 selected projects will be presented in the RomeFilmFest website, in the New Cinema Network Catalogue and in a special issue of SCREEN International.
