PROGRAMME 2009 OF ALICE NELLA CITTA'
- COMPETITION AND OUT OF COMPETITION
- OUT OF COMPETITION|ANTEPRIMA - ALICE NELLA CITTA'
The exasperating individualism of the new form of consumerism have bought different hybridizing of languages, extending the borders through acrobatic means and predatory, of the potential for infinite artificiality. We ask ourselves if it's possible to define the sense that we hear practically daily in the image of film we love.
No surprised, then, the desire, almost carnal, of the directors in this section to reconnecting with personal memories, the familiar, the intimate, that became a method of thought in the first work of Brian Percival (A Boy Called Dad) and the tension of overcoming one's limits in the extraordinary directorial debut of Bernard Bellefroid (La Regate) and the Australian road movie by Glendyn Ivin (Last Ride).
Alice, in this new edition, proposes tackling emotional ground breaking works, where there's consistency in the section, they can see Astro Boy by David Bowers, a mega production at 40 million dollar and the extraordinary documentary of social relevance Sotto Il Celio Azzurro/Under The Blue Sky from Edoardo Winspeare and the animated film by Dominique Monféry Nat And The Secret Of Eleonora a French/Italian coproduction illustrated by Rebecca Dautrame that marks the return of the animation of Magic Lantern (La Freccia Azzurra/The Blue Arrow, La Gabbianella E Il Gatto/The Seagull And The Cat) and the return of the direction of Alessandro of Robilant with the film Marpiccolo drawn from the novel Stupido by Andrea Cotti. The themes came from a "Public Diary" of twelve films preoccupied with the narrative of remaking that which has already ready been done, of reading the signs, difficult experiences, the dreams, the frustrations the contradictions, the solitude, the normal disasters and the common hopes of the young generation. This wasn't expected to happen; to surpass the usual forecasts on the future of the young and abandon completely the visions, themes, that in our opinion are still up for discussion and maybe today, could better represent our history.
