Directed by Costanza Quatriglio
Il mondo addosso
Italiano, Afgano, Romeno
They come from far away, they are on their own and they are not yet even 18-years-old, but they have already travelled long distances and have many more stretching ahead. Their homes were in Afghanistan, Romania and Moldavia. For some, their family ties were broken by war, for others, their families are waiting for financial help. The stories of Cosmin, Inga, Mohammad Jan and Josif interweave the uncertainties of today with the difficulty of building a future for tomorrow.
Costanza Quatriglio was born in Palermo in 1973. Having graduated in Jurisprudence, she attended the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia-CSC film school. Her documentaries, mainly dealing with social questions, won awards in Italy and abroad, and were shown by public broadcaster RAI 3 and on the Tele+ satellite service. Her first feature film, L'isola, produced by Dream Film and RAI Cinema, was presented in the Directors' Fortnight section at the Cannes Film Festival in 2003. It won great critical acclaim both in Italy and internationally and was distributed in various countries, first and foremost France. Her work alternates between fiction films and stories in a purely documentary vein.
